An act relating to the Citrus County Hospital Board,

Citrus County; requiring the district to wind down its
4
affairs and adopt a dissolution plan by a specified
5
date; repealing chs. 2011-256 and 2014-254, Laws of
6
Florida; dissolving the district on a specified date;
7
providing for the continued operation of an
8
irrevocable community trust or foundation established
9
pursuant to ch. 2014-254, Laws of Florida;
10
transferring district assets and liabilities to the
11
Board of County Commissioners of Citrus County;
12
providing effective dates.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

Section 1. The Citrus County Hospital Board shall wind
17
down its affairs, including, but not limited to, adopting a
18
dissolution plan that includes satisfying all of its obligations
19
and indebtedness and making provisions for the use of any
20
remaining assets of the district, including, but not limited to,
21
distributions to the irrevocable community trust or foundation
22
created pursuant to chapter 2014-254, Laws of Florida. Such plan
23
shall be adopted by September 30, 2026.

Section 2. Effective October 1, 2026, chapters 2011-256
25
and 2014-254, Laws of Florida, are repealed.

Section 3. Notwithstanding any law to the contrary, the
27
Citrus County Hospital Board is dissolved effective October 1,
28
2026.

Section 4. Notwithstanding the repeal of chapter 2014-254,
30
Laws of Florida, by this act, an irrevocable community trust or
31
foundation established pursuant to chapter 2014-254, Laws of
32
Florida, may continue to operate as otherwise provided by
33
general law.

Section 5. Notwithstanding any law to the contrary,
35
effective October 1, 2026, all assets and liabilities of the
36
Citrus County Hospital Board are transferred to the Board of
37
County Commissioners of Citrus County. All assets received by
38
the board of county commissioners pursuant to this section shall
39
first be used to satisfy all liabilities of the former district
40
received pursuant to this section. All assets remaining after
41
the satisfaction of former district liabilities shall be used by
42
the board of county commissioners in accordance with the
43
dissolution plan adopted by the Citrus County Hospital Board
44
before October 1, 2026, provided such plan is consistent with
45
chapters 2011-256 and 2014-254, Laws of Florida.

Section 6. Except as otherwise provided in this act, this
47
act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
