A golf cart may now cross a street or highway at a signalized intersection, but only within a single local government's boundaries and only where that government has designated golf-cart use on the streets on both sides of the crossing.

The local government must also separately approve that specific intersection for crossing and post signs marking it as authorized before golf carts may legally use it.

Crossing without meeting these conditions is punished the same as violating the core golf-cart operating rules -- a moving traffic violation under chapter 318, not a lesser nonmoving ticket.
