A resolution acknowledging the remarkable

contributions made to the people of this state by
4
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and recognizing
5
February 1-3, 2026, as the 32nd annual "Delta Days at
6
the Capitol."

WHEREAS, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., was founded on
9
January 13, 1913, by 22 collegiate women at Howard University as
10
a private, nonprofit organization committed to academic
11
excellence and public service, and
12
WHEREAS, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., currently has
13
1,000 collegiate and alumnae chapters throughout the world
14
comprised primarily of Black, college-educated women engaged in
15
public service to address issues impacting the Black community
16
and Americans as a whole, and
17
WHEREAS, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., serves its
18
various communities by following and upholding its commitments
19
to economic development, educational development, international
20
awareness and involvement, physical and mental health, and
21
political awareness and involvement, and
22
WHEREAS, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., has a
23
longstanding history of social action and civil engagement, and
24
WHEREAS, members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., have
25
a long history of leading in the Florida Legislature, from past
26
members Senator Arthenia Joyner, Senator Audrey Gibson, and
27
Representative Patricia Williams, to current members
28
Representative Fentrice Driskell, Representative Michele Rayner,
29
and Representative Felicia Robinson, NOW, THEREFORE,

Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
32
Florida:

That Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., is recognized for
35
its contributions and its leadership in public service in the
36
state of Florida and that February 1-3, 2026, is recognized as
37
the 32nd annual "Delta Days at the Capitol."
