A resolution commending the Florida Panthers for their

victory in the National Hockey League's 2025 Stanley
4
Cup Finals and for their contributions to this state's
5
sports legacy.

WHEREAS, on June 17, 2025, the Florida Panthers secured the
8
title of Stanley Cup Champions, defeating the Western Conference
9
champions, the Edmonton Oilers, thereby claiming their second
10
consecutive Stanley Cup title, and
11
WHEREAS, this victory solidifies the Florida Panthers'
12
place in National Hockey League history and establishes this
13
state as a premier center for professional hockey, and
14
WHEREAS, during the 2024–2025 NHL playoffs, the Florida
15
Panthers once again triumphed over their in-state rivals, the
16
Tampa Bay Lightning, and
17
WHEREAS, the Florida Panthers continued their playoff run
18
by overcoming the Toronto Maple Leafs, followed by a victory
19
over the Carolina Hurricanes in the Eastern Conference Finals,
20
advancing to the Stanley Cup Finals for a third consecutive
21
season, and
22
WHEREAS, Sam Bennett was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as
23
the most valuable player of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs,
24
becoming the first player in the Florida Panthers' franchise
25
history to receive this prestigious honor, in recognition of his
26
leadership, intensity, and game-changing performances throughout
27
the postseason, and

WHEREAS, throughout the regular season and playoffs, the
29
Florida Panthers demonstrated resilience, discipline, and
30
teamwork, and

WHEREAS, beyond their achievements on the ice, the Florida
32
Panthers have a demonstrated commitment to community service,
33
including their impactful work in promoting youth hockey,
34
supporting children and families, honoring veterans, and
35
advocating for the conservation of the endangered Florida
36
panther, NOW, THEREFORE,

Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of

Florida:

That the Florida Panthers are hereby commended for their
42
victory in the 2025 Stanley Cup Finals and for their
43
contributions to this state's sports legacy.
