7 WHEREAS, the Wendelstedt Umpire School is the only

8 independently run professional umpire training program

9 recognized by Minor League and Major League Baseball, and

10 WHEREAS, based in Ormond Beach, more than 50 current Major

11 League Baseball umpires have graduated from the Wendelstedt

12 Umpire School, and

13 WHEREAS, the Wendelstedt Umpire School is renowned for its

14 ability to develop elite umpires, having produced nearly 100

15 Major League Baseball umpires, according to ESPN, and

16 WHEREAS, after 50 historic years, the Wendelstedt Umpire

17 School is concluding its traditional 4-week program, and

18 WHEREAS, the Wendelstedt Umpire School has produced

19 countless Major League and Minor League Baseball umpires who

20 have gone on to officiate baseball across the country and has

21 brought thousands of prospective umpires to this state, NOW,

22 THEREFORE,

24 Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of

25 Florida:

27 That the Wendelstedt Umpire School is congratulated on 50

28 years of providing world-class umpire training for Minor League

29 and Major League Baseball umpires across the nation and is

30 extended best wishes in all its future endeavors.
