2 An act relating to medical marijuana use registry
3 identification cards for veterans; amending s.
4 381.986, F.S.; authorizing the Department of Health to
5 charge a reduced fee for the issuance, replacement, or
6 renewal of an identification card for an honorably
7 discharged veteran; providing requirements for proof
8 of identification; providing an effective date.
10 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
12 Section 1. Paragraph (f) is added to subsection (7) of
13 section 381.986, Florida Statutes, to read:
14 381.986 Medical use of marijuana.—
15 (7) IDENTIFICATION CARDS.—
16 (f) The department shall charge a reduced fee of $15 for
17 the issuance, replacement, or renewal of an identification card
18 for a qualified patient who is a veteran, as defined in s.
19 1.01(14), if the application includes a copy of any of the
20 following as proof of veteran status:
21 1. A DD-214 form;
22 2. A Department of Veterans Affairs identification card or
23 a Uniformed Services identification card indicating retired
24 status; or
25 3. A Florida driver license bearing the veteran
26 designation.
27 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2026.
